There would barely be a millennial in New Zealand who did not wake up on a Sunday morning to Carolyn Taylor’s beaming smile and hilarious antics during her tenure on children’s show What Now?
Carolyn (who was born in Auckland but grew up in Hokitika and then Upper Hutt), was at Victoria University in Wellington studying law and commerce for all of six weeks before landing her first TV gig at the age of 18 with What Now? Since then, she has gone on to master a variety of roles in the media.
From in front of the camera, to behind the camera in television production; working on funding television formats; sponsorship and event management at the world class Australian Grand Prix Corporation; media advertising; radio DJing, MC-ing, working with corporates and brands - there has not been a dull moment for Carolyn yet!
Her skills in ‘talking for a living’, matched with her outgoing, infectiously positive attitude, have made MCing events a natural part of Carolyn’s career trajectory – she is a sought-after host, particularly corporate and charity functions.
Carolyn is an ambassador for Cure Kids; a role she adores, as it has brought her full circle from her very first job in children’s television. One of Carolyn’s biggest pleasures is working alongside people whose mandate it is to help others.
In 2019 Carolyn added another string to her bow, joining the Dancing with the Stars 2019 line-up, where she captivated audiences with her natural dance ability before a shock early elimination, which caused a public uproar!
With her “can-do” approach, wealth of training in live TV, radio and now her extensive marketing experience, Carolyn brings expert understanding to what constitutes a skilful MC and a hugely successful event. She is praised by clients for her professionalism; energy, humour and warmth - any event with Carolyn at the helm is in safe hands!

Carolyn MC’d a fundraising Gala Dinner for Cure Kids at the Pullman Hotel Event. This event is a major fundraiser for Cure Kids, for the Accor Hotels, Rheumatic Heart Disease screening program in Fiji. Carolyn was very professional, keeping the event to time while being an entertaining and joyful presenter. She had immediate rapport with our guests and brought a lovely atmosphere to the event.
We have since partnered with Carolyn on a couple of events including our major Red Nose Day Fundraising Campaign and Dancing with the Stars. Carolyn has a wonderful ability to relate to all audiences, young and old alike.
