Sharyn Casey

Sharyn Casey is a broadcasting powerhouse. With many strings to her bow, this multi-talented broadcaster, content creator, writer, and mother has already made a strong imprint on the industry. The bubbly Sharyn knew what she wanted to do since she was seven years old and living in Timaru. She entered the industry as early as she could, studying broadcasting at the NZ Radio Training School in Wellington.

Sharyn has 20 years of experience on-air in radio, starting her career at More FM Wairarapa before climbing the ranks at The Edge radio station over 19 years. She excelled across roles including night show, day show, news reading, music director, and spent ten years hosting The Edge Afternoon show, which won three radio awards in 2018. She has since moved on and now channels her creativity into projects like her podcast, A Little Bit Extra that has gone Top 3 on the Spotify charts in New Zealand and Australia.

In TV presenting, Sharyn is known for four seasons of Dancing With The Stars NZ, two years as a panellist on The Masked Singer, one season of 'My Mum, Your Dad', voice over host for Goggle Box NZ and work on shows like Four Live, Xtra Factor, and various VNZMA red carpet duties. She’s also been roped into comedy sketches with Jono and Ben and even covered live boxing events for TV3. Sharyn is keen to give anything a try - unless it involves her cooking something.

Hard work and dedication drove Sharyn to add more strings to her bow. Over 20 years, Sharyn has built a strong reputation as an MC, keeping events on time while entertaining audiences. She’s tried her hand at writing, with several published pieces on news sites and magazines on various topics from parenting, mental health, music, celebrity gossip and advice. Motherhood came knocking for Sharyn in 2018 as she and her husband, The Rock’s Bryce Casey welcomed their son Tyson into the world, and again in 2021 with baby Reuben. They have bravely shared their turbulent journey through miscarriage, high risk pregnancy and life on a NICU ward.

With her engaging content, humour, and authenticity, Sharyn has grown a large and engaged following across her social pages. For some people, this would be enough to span an entire career. But watch this space, Sharyn’s just getting started.
