Eat Lit Food is not your regular food blogger. Otherwise known as Albert Cho, he is renowned for not only his cutting edge restaurant reviews but also being one of the most opinionated and transparent people on the internet. You can hate him or you can love him — either way, he remains unbothered.

What started as a hobby during his university years has now turned into one of New Zealand’s most influential platforms within the food industry. From street vendors to fine dining restaurants, Alby writes about it all with his tongue-in-cheek and witty flair. Unafraid to give his honest views, he has gained trust from the public for his raw authenticity.

Going beyond brand partnerships on social media, he has written a book, I Love My Stupid Life published by Penguin NZ and starred as one of five cast members in the TV3 Discovery show, The Hustle. Both showing a different side to Albert which he says is more of an accurate representation of himself. In these projects, you will see that underneath the facade of profanity and innuendos, Albert is as clever as he is charismatic with an incredible work ethic.

While at Takapuna Grammar School, he was a prefect which included performing numerous speeches and he found his love for writing and public speaking. He went on to study communications at AUT University, majoring in journalism, minoring in public relations and a career in media was inevitable. Following his internship at The Urban List, Albert was head hunted by the founder of Denizen Magazine to join as their junior writer where he was assigned the entire food section and dabbled in fashion and lifestyle.

When he’s not at his day job, his energy goes into Eat Lit Food which is still growing to this day after 6 years since its birth. Albert also writes for multiple publications such as Viva, Canvas or interviewing international artists like Yungblud when they visit the country.

By constantly being out at the local restaurants, bars and clubs (all which he considers work too), he has gained a reputation as quite the socialite. He doesn’t consider himself a fashion influencer but considering he was a model in New Zealand and South Korea in his late teens to early twenties, it comes with the territory.

Albert is clearly not your regular food blogger. He’s a multifaceted creative with a variety of passions but what is consistent is his positivity. He says that his main goal is “to make people happy, even if it’s just for a brief moment, I love to make people laugh.” His positivity, strong work ethic and rich knowledge in digital marketing make him any client’s dream.
