Father of three, Scotty Morrison (Ngati Whakaue) is the well-known presenter of Maori current affairs programmes Te Karere and Marae Investigates. An experienced screen actor and radio host, he holds a Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Education and Masters degree (Education) from Waikato University.
He is also currently working towards his PhD at Massey University. Scotty has been an Adjunct Professor and the Director of Maori Student and Community Engagement at Auckland's Unitec Institute of Technology, where he continues to promote te reo Maori through awareness, administration and specialised courses. He is also the author of the bestselling The Raupo Phrasebook of Modern Maori.
Along with his wife, fellow broadcaster Stacey Morrison, he does consultancy work for shows with Māori content like CODE, Find Me a Māori bride (upcoming) and NZ films such as Deadlands.
A talented sportsman, he represented NZ in the Maori rugby sevens team and NZ schoolboys volleyball and was also a Bay of Plenty rep in rugby, athletics, golf and cricket. So it’s fitting that Scotty's MC experience includes being MC /Host of the Maori Sports Awards.

It is my great pleasure as chair of the National Maori Cancer Coalition to provide a testimonial on behalf of Scotty Morrison. Scotty did a fantastic job as MC for the forum he anchored the whole program and managed to keep the audience engaged, and gave great introductions on behalf of all key note speakers his ability to fluently converse in English and Te Reo Maori was excellent and well received. He also managed to promote our sponsors at every opportunity throughout the forum, I received positive feedback about this from our sponsors who were impressed. There is no doubt that Scotty made a huge contribution to the overall success of the forum, he has high professional standards and we are very grateful, if we were to do this again we would definitely want to engage him.
